How To Work With Your New Rifle

When you buy a new rifle, you need to be familiar with it, use it, and work with it better in the future, so how should you treat your new rifle?

Step 1

Once your shooting location is set up, take one shot and clean the rifle barrel however you like.

You don't need a thorough deep cleaning here, but you can follow a simple process to clean your rifle barrel. At this stage, don't really worry about where you hit. Just find any target and take a shot.

Step 2

Repeat step 1 for the first 10 shots through the barrel. This process will take you some time as you clean the rifle between shots. Also, cleaning your rifle between shots allows your barrel to cool down. Depending on the size of the barrel, the cooldown may vary.

Step 3

Next, shoot a trio and clean your barrel. Again, don't really worry about where your bullets hit. You will perform this step for a total of fifteen rounds, so you will repeat three strokes and clean a total of five times.

Step 4

At the end, you fire five rounds and clear your barrel. After cleaning the barrel, you'll want to foul.

Step 5

Now you can do three rounds as needed to test accuracy, or that's it. From now on, your rifle can now handle anything you throw at it.

The break-in process of a new gun is very important, it can make your future use more smooth.
